Bad Shards of Alara Prerelease Experience
October 3, 2008
Here is a video with Evan Erwin talking about his horrible prerelease experience. It includes Patrick Chapin, a popular Magic The Gathering pro, and friends. Evan also covers the Conflux card names leak.
By the way, I had a pretty good prerelease experience. I played two flights.
Shards of Alara sealed deck is fun and challenging. I had to use every single minute during the deck building period to figure out a good build as well as fix my mana base.
The games played pretty well. Most of the bombs are rare or mythic rare so the games seemed to be decided by deck building and play skill instead of just luck.
I did have to wait 2-3 hours for my second flight to run because we didn’t have a lot of players. That was not cool, but I met some people and we played casually to pass the time.
Also, the prize support was crappy. Playing four rounds, four wins got 7 packs and three wins got 3 packs. The prizes used to be 14 packs and 7 packs, respectively.
Got something to say?
