Lol, Bazaar Trader Deck Gets 1st Place Out of 73 Players

February 11, 2010

bazaar-trader.jpgI was browsing through Magic-League.com looking for deck ideas when I saw this deck. Bazaar Trader in a 1st place deck? You gotta be kidding me.

This has to be the most hilarious deck in Standard.

The BazaaR
Creatures (12)
Spells (24)
Lands (24)
Sideboard (15)

Now I don’t think this deck will dominate Standard. Bazaar Trader is really easy to kill and it looks like the deck needs it to win. Sure, you might be able to win with just Abyssal Persecutor but that seems unlikely with Terminate, Path to Exile, Maelstrom Pulse, Wall of Denial, and Vampire Nighthawk being popular cards.

Still, the deck has cool combos:

Abyssal Persecutor + Bazaar Trader or Bone Splinters ftw if your opponent is at 0 or less life.

Bazaar Trader + Immortal Coil + Bojuka Bog is an instant win.

Bazaar Trader + Mark of Mutiny or Act of Treason lets you permanently steal creatures. First, cast one of the red sorceries on your opponent’s creature and then target yourself and the creature you stole with Bazaar Trader. Also, in a pinch, the red sorceries can give Bazaar Trader haste.

Bone Splinters + Mark of Mutiny or Act of Treason lets you steal a creature and then sac it to kill another creature.

Bloodghast + Bone Splinters may not be as flashy as the other combos but it gets the job done.

Anyways, try the deck out and let me know how it plays.

I developed a similar deck on my own, using one persecuter, less removal and some vampire aritocrats. I decided to see If anyone else thought of this sort thing and there it is. It works great for casual play. It gets funny looks from my opponents

This deck is so much fun! I heard about the Bazaar Trader + Mark of Mutiny combo, and then I found this. Not only a fun and crazy deck to play, but pretty effective with a possible turn 4 win.

I switched out Bloodghast (simply because it’s not necessary and expensive), and switched Bone Splinters for Fleshbag Marauder. Yes, two more mana, but if you steal a creature first, you can not only sac their creature and make them sac another, but you get a 3/1 out of it. Not to mention, you don’t need another creature in order to play it. That’s huge.

Also… Bit Blast?? That’s horrible in this deck!! What if you cascade into Immortal Coil when you have 0 or few cards in your graveyard?? Not to mention that you can hit any of your soceries or instants when they don’t have creatures out… I took it out.

My version splashed green for Sarkhan to steal creatures repeatedly. I also added Whispersilk Cloak to keep BT protected, and a couple Broodmate Dragons. Cause they’re BA.

Also, Dragon Appeasement is a lot of fun! It’s more expensive than Immortal Coil and Abyssal Persecutor, but it doesn’t depend on any conditions, and they’re basically screwed.
