Shards of Alara Release Date and Events on Magic Online
October 14, 2008
Wizards of the Coast just released the schedule of release events as well as the release date for Shards of Alara on Magic Online, or MTGO.
Shards of Alara will be released on Monday, October 20. The release events will begin on Friday, October 24. There will five types of release events:
- Draft Queues
- “Top 8″ Premier Events
- “Competitive No Top 8″ Flights
- “Casual No Top 8″ Flights
- Release Event Championship
Two things to note.
The sealed events will consist of 1 Shards of Alara tournament pack and 3 Shards of Alara booster packs for your card pool. This is different from PTQs, at least in my area (Texas, USA). The PTQs only give you 2 boosters.
The release championship is the same day as States, November 8.
