Deck Price Tag: Mono Green Eldrazi Ramp

Mono Green Ramp is not usually a competitive deck but when you’re ramping up to Eldrazi monsters and have access to many useful lands, you gain enough utility to fight the other top decks. Also, Primeval Titan is one of the best ramp creatures ever, All Is Dust is a powerful battlefield sweeper, and Summoning Trap helps you beat counterspells, which traditionally has been a problem for the archetype.

Conrad Kolos took the following decklist to 3rd place finish in the 2010 US Nationals last weekend. Check out his tournament report (part 1 and part 2).

I highly recommend the deck especially for the post Scars of Mirrodin Standard format since it doesn’t lose much from the rotation.

Hi, what a deck ! I have this one , but I have some problems to sideboard. My sideboard is 4 FOG, 3 PELAKKAS, 3 P. NEEDLES , 4 ACIDIC SLIME, 1 BALOTH. My meta has agro decks, valakut and UW , and NAYA Vengev maily.
But could u help me how to sideboard against the main competitive decks? What goes in-out versus a deck?
    I’d really appreciate it

    @ enzo

Unfortunately, I probably won’t cover that deck. I don’t think it is very good. I have limited time to blog and I think there are better decks to cover. Eric only went 5-4 with his list and the deck has not been doing well on MTGO.

Plus, the UGR version is doing awful according to the TCG Player’s power rankings: http://magic.tcgplayer.com/db/article.asp?ID=9100

By the way, have you tested the Pyromancer Ascension deck with Polymorph sideboard from German Nationals? It seems pretty good.

    @ JG2015

It takes me a while to do sideboard plans. But check back on Saturday U.S. time. I’ll try to have something for you in the comments.

    @ JABluemage

Yeah, I just lost to it with Mythic. I misplayed to lose game one and then got destroyed game two. The Polymorph sideboard seems really hard to beat with a bunch of x/1 creatures.

Quick question, do you guys think that elves would be an acceptable way to ramp up eldrazi?

  12. Dee on March 6th, 2011 11:58 pm

imo, elves is too vulnerable to mass removal especially pyroclasm.
