Deck Price Tag: Red/Green Valakut Titan Ramp

I’ve been talking about Valakut Titan decks a lot, so I thought I’d do a price tag on the deck.

I picked Tamada Ryouichi’s 1st place list from last weekend’s PTQ in Kanazawa, Japan. The PTQ only had 25 players but don’t be fooled, the deck is pretty good. Many of the top players on Magic League are playing similar lists.

Also, the deck is currently less than $200, which is much lower than most of the other top decks. But I’m sure the price is rising as Primeval Titan is living up to the hype. If you make the changes I recommend below, the deck will be over $200 but still not over $250.

One change I would make is to add 3-4 Lightning Bolts and cut 1 Siege-Gang, 1 Avenger, and 1-2 ramp spells, probably Harrow and/or Cultivate. The Bolts help you survive the early game against fast decks. Adding 4 Obstinate Baloth also seems like a good idea to give you a good chance against Red Deck Wins. From what I’ve seen, all the top players on Magic League that play the deck have made these changes.
Some of them are playing Inferno Titan over Siege-Gang Commander so you may want to test the red Titan.
