G/W/u Control Deck For Standard
February 24, 2008
Here’s the deck I’m testing for the Standard format. I found it on StarCityGames.com. It got 5th place in a Grand Prix Trial tournament in Japan.

2 Oblivion Ring

3 Condemn
Legendary Creatures
2 Akroma, Angel Of Wrath
1 Crovax, Ascendant Hero
Snow Artifacts
3 Coldsteel Heart
Sorceries
2 Austere Command
4 Harmonize
4 Into The North
4 Primal Command
3 Wrath Of God
Basic Snow Lands
6 Snow-covered Forest
5 Snow-covered Plains
Lands
2 Brushland
2 Horizon Canopy
2 Treetop Village
1 Urza’s Factory
Snow Lands
2 Arctic Flats
1 Boreal Shelf
1 Highland Weald
2 Mouth Of Ronom
Sideboard:
2 Cloudthresher
3 Detritivore
2 Riftsweeper
1 Crovax, Ascendant Hero
4 Mwonvuli Acid-moss
3 Eyes Of The Wisent
Why do I like this deck?
Well, it’s cheap. I don’t have much money right now to shell out $150+ for a Tarmogoyf playset.
This deck only costs $171 when you buy it online. I like to buy from MTG Mint Card. If they don’t have all the cards, I’ll buy the rest from Cool Stuff Inc.
Also, I like playing rouge decks and this deck seems pretty rouge. I like catching people by surprise with weird, janky cards like Austere Command and Primal Command.
It’s a control deck. I’ve usually played aggro or aggro-control decks in the past, but now I want to expand my Magic skill by learning how to play a control deck.
