Notes About the Red/White Kithkin Vs. Swans Matchup

March 20, 2009 | Posted by Dee

Wizened CennAs the Red/White Kithkin player (decklist here), I thought I had the game in hand. I had two Wizened Cenns and Glorious Anthem. Also, I had just played Cloudgoat Ranger.

He had four mana. However, he untapped, played a land, and killed all my guys with Pyroclasm and Volcanic Fallout. I should not have played the Cloudgoat Ranger.

I won the second game with double Burrenton Forge-Tender. That card is so good against the Swans decklist. It stops their board sweepers as well as keeping them from drawing cards off of Swans of Bryn Argoll.

I sided in four Burrenton Forge-Tender and two Ranger of Eos. Here’s what I took out.

-3 Glorious Anthem
-1 Goldmeadow Stalwart
-1 Cloudgoat Ranger
-1 Ajani Vengeant

I’m not sure if those are the cards I should take out. What do you think?

Oops, thanks for pointing that out.
