Why Red/White Kithkin Destroys Green/Black Elves

I just finished playing a league match on magic-league.com. I played Red/White Kithkin while my opponent ran Green/Black Elves. I won two quick games and it wasn’t very close.
This matchup seems to be in the Kithkin player’s favor by a wide margin. Here are a couple reasons why:
Path to Exile is such a beating against Treetop Village, Mutavault, Chameleon Colossus, and Wilt-Leaf Liege. Since R/W Kithkin is such an aggressive decklist, the tempo loss from Path to Exile is too much to overcome for the G/B Elves player.
Elves just loses to token creatures and creature pump. With four Wizened Cenn and three Glorious Anthem, the token creatures are often as big as the Elves’ creatures. Other than Cloudthresher, Elves only has one-for-one removal. This type of removal is pretty bad when you’re facing down three flying Spirit tokens and Glorious Anthem. And Cloudgoat Ranger is even worse since it brings three tokens and a 3/3 body. In game one, it’s usually game over for Elves when Cloudgoat Ranger hits the board.
Elves does have Cloudthresher to deal with tokens but the big green flash creature only deals with Spectral Procession. Still, I recommend playing four Cloudthresher main since stopping an early Spectral Procession from activating Windbrisk Heights is a strong play. Also, Cloudthresher is good against Faeries and Five Color.
In game two, Elves can bring in Infest but Infest is usually not enough since Wizened Cenn and Glorious Anthem can stop it. I actually got hit by Infest twice in the same turn in the second game. I lost my whole team of two Wizened Cenns, Knight of Meadowgrain, and Figure of Destiny. However, I had Glorious Anthem on the board and just played Spectral Procession for the win since I had a fast start and he was only at 4 life.

It WAS a terrible match up, now that maelstrom pulse and putrid leech are in the format, GB elves seems much stronger if you ask me. Thoughtseize, leech, pulse…. its pretty tough to handle, and has a nice curve. I haven’t tested much versus the kithkin match up but i dont expect to lose every game.
Yeah, Alara Reborn definitely helped G/B Elves. I think the matchup now is probably close to even.
