Shards of Alara Prerelease
Prereleases are great places to play Magic The Gathering. You’ll get to play with the cards of the new expansion set one week before it’s officially released. You’ll receive an exclusive foil promo card from the new set. You’ll meet other Magic players in a casual, fun environment.
Date
The prerelease for Shards of Alara will happen on September 27 and 28.
Tournament Details
As usual, the tournament format will be sealed deck. You’ll get 1 Shards of Alara tournament pack and 3 Shards of Alara booster packs to build your deck.
The tournament structure will be Swiss-style for at least four rounds. Tournaments with only 8 players can be run with only three rounds. Also, tourmanent organizers can choose to run single elimination rounds instead of Swiss-style.

Local stores are now eligible to run Shards of Alara prereleases. If you don’t want to drive a long distance, contact your local gaming store to see if they are participating.
